BUKAYO

BUKAYO Jamaica Ramirez Coconut is the most important crops in the tropical areas. Indonesia dominates the world as one of the biggest coconut producing country followed by the Philippines with an annual production of 15 million tons of coconuts (Burton, 2018). When you feel that you want to eat something sweet you should try the Bukayo it is a Filipino version of coconut candy and its consist of strips of mature buko meat (coconut meat) and dark brown sugar and it’s also called as coconut toffee. People believed that Bukayo is originates from Lingayen, Pangasinan. The coconut tree is called as “The Tree of Life” because of the products which can be made from its different parts and one of this is the Bukayo that can derived by the buko.
