In today’s time, and in our current situation, our way of living has never been easier. Our actions have been limited, and we cannot fully enjoy what is happening around us, even so, this does not stop us from doing what we want. As matter of fact, this situation has made us to be more innovative of how we want to enjoy our lives even at the midst of this pandemic.
Ever since the pandemic had
started, a lot of people began doing different types of activities to alleviate
the feeling of boredom. Some people used this time as an opportunity to finally
do what they have always wanted to do. For instance, hobbies like painting, due
to the pandemic, we were mandated to stay in our homes for our safety, for this
reason, we have all the time in our hands to do whatever we want. Learning how
to paint, its techniques or even improving it can be possible for the allotted
time we have because of the pandemic.
Also, if you are into art and are
planning to go the art galleries but was cancelled, as I mentioned, due to the
pandemic and lockdown, there are still ways to do it!! There are art galleries that
opened virtual museums for all. Museums/ art galleries that has virtual museums
includes the Ayala Museum, where it is know for its pre-colonial artifacts, and
the National Museum of Fine Arts, which houses several art pieces from as early
as the 17th century.
Another example of this is Billie
Eilish, who is now one of the most popular artists. Billie Eilish was
interviewed by Vanity Fair, wherein she mentioned that because this was her
longest day off, she said, “I have made and created things that I don’t think I
ever would have created without this period of time, this amount of time” and
finally when she was asked how many songs she is currently working on, she said
“right now I have 16, and I love them all”.

It is not just
paintings, and musics that are our way of escape from this situation. Many of
us, especially the youth are now getting into anime. Anime is a japanese
animated film that has variety of genres. According to (Tsuneoka, 2020), in her
article, the chief anime production of Netflix, Taiki Sakurai said “I used to
have the sense that the anime category was spreading widely around the world,
but what we’re seeing these days is a big leap beyond that.” “The global anime
fan base is expanding rapidly.” Netflix said that there are more than 100
million households around the world that watched at least one anime title on
the streaming site in the year to September 2020 and growing by 50% from a year
earlier. Anime titles have appeared in the top-10 list in nearly 100 countries
this year. A very popular anime today is the movie produced by UFOTABLE is
titled Kimetsu no Yaiba. Because of this pandemic, the internet is now
accessible than ever, for that, I believe that the internet’s accessibility is
another reason for its popularity.
Art truly comes in many forms and
this unprecedented situation has given us so many opportunities to do what we
want, and this shows how art has a huge impact on our lives and how it helped
us in the midst of this pandemic.
